Prime Minister Theresa May has threatened to be a “bloody difficult woman” at this week’s EU summit.
She hinted to BBC journalist Nick Robinson that she will give fellow leaders a hard time if they oppose her Chequers plan for Brexit at a lunch in Austria.
Interviewing her for tomorrow night’s Panorama on BBC1, Mr Robinson suggests Mrs May is not as “bloody difficult” as ex-Tory Chancellor Ken Clarke once dubbed her.
But she tells him “the bloody difficult woman is still there” and adds it is better to be difficult “when the time is right”.

Mrs May also tells Panorama that Boris Johnson’s description of Chequers as a “suicide vest” was “completely inappropriate” language.
